2011 Beach Trip!!

My sister Aubrey flew home from CO to spend the week with us!! The kids loved sharing a room with her!!!

Daddy sure did enjoy his downtime and playing with his kiddos!!

This is my fave picture of the kiddos with my brother and sister!! The children wore them out but they all had so much fun!! Brax spent hours one day jumping waves with my brother on his boogie board! He was like a shark...did not want to come out of the water!!

We had perfect weather and perfect company! We stayed in a house in Seagrove, FL and pretty much spent the whole time in the sand and water! I think I fixed my hair just once that week! It's such a gift to be totally absorbed in playing with your kids...to not have to think about laundry, groceries, chores, work, etc...the list goes on! We still got up early and went to bed late...but it was so worth it! I loved having coffee with my mom and sis on the balcony over looking the beach...so quiet and still! I so take for granite the "play" time I spend with my children...I truly don't do enough of it! I have to force myself to put all else aside and say, "You are most important to me, right now." They are only little once, and when it's over, it's over. Wouldn't it be nice if we could get in a few days at the beach every month??

Blah, blah...Our beach trip was amazing...always is...always hard to leave! But thankfully we have the moments, tradition and memories to last forever!!!

\What a Big day for these 2!! They went Joyfully and with BIG Smiles!! Mommy went with quite a few tears and a heavy heart! What is is about school in general that makes little lives flash before your eyes? I wonder if my mission as "mother" is being accomplished...Have I nourished their minds, bodies and souls enough to take on this great world without me? Have I read to them enough? Have I cuddled enough? Have I laughed with them enough so that their little hearts are overflowing with Joy? Have I prayed for them enough? Have I kissed enough boo-boos? Am I up to par in every department of their childhood? The truth is...I have absolutley no idea...!! I never will and I think as parents we are critical of ourselves and how well, or not well, we parent! My own mother still talks about things she would have done differently!

However, what I do know is that they both RAN, literally RAN...joyfully and willingly into a new season with laughter, excitement and no hesitation!! This makes my heart happy...that they are confident and content in their little, tiny lives to take on their own, childish mission...And that is just being a kid...and Loving it!!!!

Braxton is now obsessed with horses and especially riding them, this is a Pony but I'm sure to him it's close enough to horse size! He can steer him and stop him and make him go on his own...Quick learner!!

This was our third annual trip to the Little Boots Rodeo in Montgomery!! We love this tradition and all the fun events! The Horak family joined in on the fun, as well as our cousins too! This is so Braxton's element...dirt, trucks, sheep, horses, boots and lots of other fun little boys to play with! He's just so growny all of a sudden, so sweet! He rode his first sheep and had the best day! Sissy was much more cautious and hesitant about all the action, but still enjoyed herself! Oh, how sweet these memories are!!

We celebrated Janie Belle's 3rd Birthay a few weeks back with face painting, ice cream and lots of sweet friends!! She had a ball and I still can't believe my baby is 3!! Wow...She acts so growny, yet I still feel like three is still so small and innocent...She likes to be in everybody's business, always asking lots of questions about what your doing and Why?? Loves to play dollies and especially house with Braxton...sometimes I will get in on the action and she likes for me to be the Granny!! I love this little girl, she is so pretty and precious...small and thoughtful...wish I could hold on to her little self forever!!

I am always impressed by the new web-sites I find offering creativity and inspiration! I can be creative in the the sewing department, but am not however when it comes to Paper!! But, I have found some fancy women who are!! Garnish is a new site I have found offering cool and unique paper wears to spruce up any party, home or gift ideas! They have a blog also that's loaded with inspirations for any occasion, small or big!! Visit them at http://www.thinkgarnishblog.com/. There is another savvy site called How Does She that posts women's ideas on life, home dec., food and fun creativity from all over! I have found some really adorable printables to use for a few different projects of my own!! One more place to check out is One Charming Party! So, so cute! I got most my ideas for Janie Belle's 3rd birthday party here. (which I will be posting soon!) Until then, these are pictures of my Teacher gifts a gave at my kids pre-school last week! They are very simple but so adorable! The containers came from Garnish and the the thank you printable came from How Does She! I used my own pink and yellow papers I already had, along with the ribbon! I nice way to spruce up a gift card for anyone!

...It's been a while! Since finishing up Spring sewing, I have been tending to my little sheep and very much enjoying their time!!! We are all well, Janie Belle will be 3 on Saturday...Can not believe it! She is too cute! Talks a lot, very nosey and concerned about what's going on...Loves to play babies, house and all things domestic!! What do ya' know...Braxton has been spending a lot of time with Daddy! Isaac has planted 100 acres of cotton and is getting ready to start a new business the first of June!! Braxton has been right there with him the whole way...He doesn't miss a beat. He has planted his own crop of corn, tomatoes and wheat! He loves to "cultivate" and he prays for rain!! He thinks he's grown...I took these pix on April 28, the day after the tornado's! After seeing all the devastation on TV, I looked outside to see my two driving trucks through a mud puddle. My first reaction was to run out side and say, "Get out of the mud!!!!" But instead, I grabbed the camera and went to town...I was so thankful that day, to have a safe home and see huge smiles and laughter amongst my children!! (I did get the clothes clean and they still wear them as "farm attire.")

...I have been busy at my sewing machine for about 3 weeks now filling orders for our Bradley Jane customers. Here are some items I did recently...They were designed by the customer from our selection of patterns and fabrics. I love it when clients come up with their own ideas...It is more fun for us to sew up something new and the customer gets a handmade item just the way they want it!! My house is a complete reck right now, no time for that, but aren't these clothes adorable?

...This little girl is getting way too big! She will be 3 in May and it really blows my mind! She thinks she is something else too...she can be very bossy and a little sassy! She wants to do EVERYTHING by herself and doesn't want any help. She laughs at herself and loves to sit quietly and color and sing and do puzzles! She is very much enjoying her baby dolls these days and her and brother are all about playing house! She's a busy-body and cannot be still long enough for me to snatch a quick hug or kiss! During story time, she must ask at least 30 questions...(this makes for a long story time.) Very thoughtful and inquisitive questions...and her response to them all is always, "Ooh!" She is precious and I absolutely adore her...I just wish time would slow down sometimes, just a little bit!!

...The kids, with a little help from me, made this sweet painting for my sister. She lives far from us and I wanted her to have something fun and interesting in her house to remember how much we love her! This was the answer...I got the idea from my Chiropractor's office...something his little boy had made at Parkway pre-school. Ours was a larger and more detailed version. They of course had fun making it and I wish I had one for myself!!

We play this game sometimes and it is too funny! I started doing it when someone would pout or get really upset in the car. Now we play it for pure entertainment, or to try and take a cute picture...Like these!!! They are so funny! Janie Belle just laughs so hard, she just can't help it...Brax on the other hand really tries not to smile...of course, in the end he can't hold back either! When the weather gets warmer outside, we take to the farm! My wild husband loves nothing more than to tend to some sort of growing matter! Peaches, onions, cotton, just to name a few! He is the most content and at his happiest when he's tending to his crop...And I must say, the kids and I love it too! Especially Braxton! The boy LOVES to work. Working to this 4-year-old is driving tractors and trucks and helping daddy on the farm! Sissy likes it too, she has just now gotten old enough to enjoy it and want to get involved! I'm best at feeding the hungry mouths and quenching their thirst with sweet tea!! I never imagined this would be my life, but I love it and wouldn't change it for anything!!

Isaac's parents took us all to the Circus on Friday night...It was way funner than I remember it! The kiddos sat so still with their eyes wide open, chowing on popcorn...Needless to say, they loved it! Janie Belle's favorite were the Elephants and when the Lions came out, she snuggled up really close to me and got a tight grip on my thumb...a little overwhelming! Braxton liked the fire and the motorcycles. He is still asking me where Dumbo the flying elephant was!!! Pre-Circus, we got to see an Elephant upclose and Braxton walked the tightrope...It was so cool to see them experience something so new and magical!!!

What a fun day we had this year! But aren't they all fun when you have little ones? There's something just a little sweeter about Christmas when you see the anticipation and excitement in their little eyes...Although all these pix are images of our children opening gifts and enjoying new toys, we had many more moments of the children learning and re-creating the Christmas Story. (Why didn't I get pictures of that?) They have loved playing with our manger scene at home and even more have loved pretending to be Mary and Joseph...Braxton walked out with the baby one day and said,"We need to wrap Jesus in his swaddling clothes." So sweet...I need to be more wise and vigilent of what I take pictures of...

Our Christmas Traditions

We attend church Christmas Eve, and when we get home, the children have a special gift from Mommy and Daddy...A book for each and a new movie to watch...We eat popcorn and all snuggle up on the floor in our sleeping bags...

My mother and I took the kiddos to ride the Polar Express train in Calera, AL. We had a blast! It was too cute and well worth the drive over there. We boarded a train and headed for the North Pole. When we arrived, Santa and a few of his elves climbed on board and visited with each child on the train. We then enjoyed milk and cookies and sang some carols. Braxton and Janie Belle each received a special bell from Santa! It was so funny and we enjoyed every minute!!

The Season of Soup

2 14 oz cans V8 juice
1.5-2 lbs ground beef
2 small bags frozen mixed veggies
1 can cream of mushroom
1 can cream of celery
1 onion chopped

Brown beef and onion together in large pot. Add V8, soups and veggies and bring to small boil. Turn range to medium heat and let simmer 40-60 minutes. Delicious!!

I make the easy JIFFY cornbread, a little sweetness to go with the tomato juices.

With all this rain and cooler temps, there's nothing I love more than a warm bowl of Hearty soup. This is probably my favorite winter recipe and is super easy. I made it Monday with cornbread and then warmed up again for Tuesday and made Grill Cheese to go with! Whoop up a bowl, it'll sure warm you up!!

Isaac and and I took a much needed mini-vacation to SC after Thanksgiving! If you've never been, you absolutely must go!! It is old, beautiful and full of history. I love old architecture, especially the Antebellum homes...they are a sight to see! The old Market is still alive and jumping today with vendors from all over selling art work, jewelry, and woven baskets. Before the time of airplanes, Charleston was one of the major coastal cities bringing in goods and immigrants to our nation...a major meeting point between the north and the south, the starting point of the Civil War. Enough of that, it was Beautiful!! So much to see and do!!

November is always a big month for us...my birthday, Braxton's birthday and the Anniversary too! And a little football on the side...I turned 30 on the 11th and Brax turned 4 on the 18th. Isaac and I celebrated 6 wonderful years together on the 6th. I honestly can't believe my little red-headed baby is 4 already...he is so tall now, he's not toddler looking at all...makes me kind of sad. He just looks too grown up...He had a Space birthday last Friday and it was nuts, for real!! But fun for the kids. Brax is happy to say he's 4 now and is already talking about when he turns 5...what is up with that??

So all of my family headed to Orange Beach, last week of September for a week of family fun! It was the best you could ask for...beautiful weather, great company, sweet kids, awesome grandparents, calm, shallow waters, nothing but time to enjoy, rejoice and relax! So I got in my car to pick up the kiddos from the first day of pre-school and JB's teacher called me and said she was running a fever...What a great first day experience for Janie Belle...Needless to say, when I got to school she looked pitiful and was a little hot cake to the touch...Now Braxton has fever too...He did have a Great first day however, he was so happy when I picked him up...I said, "I'm so glad you were so big today and had such a fun time." He said, "I'm so glad too, that's because I have Jesus in my heart." I just grinned and laughed...I am so thankful for his new teacher Shea Ford, she must have made a sweet impression on him...Pray for my kiddos that fevers will go away soon!!

Everybody's excited!

She litterly ran into the building and then just stopped and wouldn't move...

We are back in pre-school at FUMC Opelika...Mommy is so excited!! Braxton was oh, so big this year! Been there, done that kind of attitude but very, very excited because he's "bigger" this year and he's in the "big kid" room! So that means that Sissy is in the baby room, aka the two-year-olds! She talked it up big and was excited about her name on her back-pack but when it came time to walk in the room she stopped and wouldn't move...lot's of anxiety set in...I held her and took her in and played puzzles and showed her to her friends...She was ok, was crying when I left but I know she's having fun...I hope! Can't believe my baby is in pre-school...The past two years of her life just flash before my eyes...It really goes by in a blink...

I'm trying to get ahead, putting stuff together for the kiddos for the fall season! I'm not sure how busy I'll be, come August, so I figured I'd better go ahead and get some projects done...The pink outfit up top is my new favorite...I found the pink swirl in Birmingham and didn't really know what to do with it and then found the topper pattern at Wal-Mart and got started...Still baby looking but 2 pieces...The Auburn dress is more fun than most things I make, but I think it's cute...The long all is very traditional and it looks adorable on her, it went together a lot easier than it looks...Braxton is next, will post some of his ensembles soon!!

We took the kiddos yesterday to Atlanta for a trip to the Fernbank Museum...Isaac's sister Anna and Her hubs and baby live there and we had a fun, fun visit...Braxton was very inquisitive and thoroughly enjoyed every exhibit we saw...They have dinosaurs there and lots of other interactive things to do...He kept wanting to see snakes, not sure why...he is scared of snakes...luckily for mom...there were no snakes! Thanks Anna for the picnic lunch...We very much enjoyed our trip!!

For those of you that may not know...My mother and I are starting our own sewing business...And I really cannot believe it...We are in the process of putting together our samples for trunk shows the first of August...I am truly excited...This is something I have been pondering and praying about for some time and It's finally a reality...I love childrens clothing and I especially love heirloom styles...I love the old made new and I love vintage, timeless fabrics...We will have over 20 samples at our show and will be sending out invites in a few weeks...What an adventure this is going to be...Here are a few samples, hope you like them...

This silly little boy is crazy about cowboys, along with many other things, and he walked out of his bedroom with this on today after church. You can't really tell in the photo, but he only has underwear on under the costume...it was too funny...he loves Woody, Bulls Eye, and Buzz from Toy Story and his new obsession is Scooby Doo...He said that he wanted to be Scooby for Halloween, I could be Daphne, Isaac could be Shaggy and Janie Belle could be Velma...how funny would that be??

Janie Belle and I went to Birmingham last week to visit my girlfriend Marie and her new sweet baby girl. We did lots of sewing for Genevieve while we were there and I got to buy my kiddos some pretty fabrics for this fall...Janie Belle was her usual busy, sassy self and baby Genevieve is growing so, so much every day...It was too fun getting these little girls together...

Isaac is combining wheat this week and Brax went and helped out yesterday. He left with his daddy at 1:30 and they didn't get home until 8pm. It was a long day for B man but he had sooo...much fun and LOVES being with his daddy! They are so much alike and Braxton wants to be just like him. My hubs is a wild and rugged, old-fashioned, southern man...usually dirty....getting his clothes clean is a joke...loves ice-cold beer...is obsessed with his peach orchard...and has the biggest humble heart I know...and I love every inch of him!!!

We went to the kids rodeo saturday in Montgomery and had so much fun! Our little friends Christian and Anna Kate came too this year! B man did the truck race, stick horse race and the boots race. Janie Belle did the truck and stick horse too but did not perform quite as well as her brother did! It was so, so cute and we had so much fun watching Christian do "Muttin Bustin" also know as sheep riding!! He did so good and the boys had so much fun together!! I sure enjoyed getting to spend the day with the family and having lots of laughs and smiles!!

We celebrated Bellsie's 2nd Birthday at Felton Little park in Auburn on Saturday. It was super sweet and oh so fun. It's so sweet to have good little friends to celebrate such a happy day with us. We are so thankful for you all!!

I really can't believe this little mess is 2 already...it has gone by in a blink and I wish it would slow down just a little bit. She has my heart and her daddy's on a string and probably always will...we love you little doll...to the moon and back again!!!

We celebrated two very special friends' birthdays this past weekend!! Our little buddy, Myles Tatum, from church celebrated his second birthday Friday evening at Monkey Park in Opelika! The kids got a special little train ride and hotdogs and homemade ice cream too! It was the perfect atmosphere for our sweet little friend!

On Saturday, our little friend Anna Kate Horak also celebrated her second birthday! She is one of Janie Belle's best little girlfriends and she is a hoot! Do not be deceived by her tinyness, she has a big personality to go with it!!

Ever since I got wireless last week, I'v kind of gone internet crazy! I have been checking my e-mail daily, I have updated my blog often, I joined Facebook and I now think I know all the embroidery sites out there! And, my new obsession is vintage childrens patterns! I LOVE them! They are adorable and timeless in my mind! I have found the sweetest sunsuits that are no longer found in modern patterns and love looking at the styles and fashions from the early 1900's. My absolute favorite though has to be the girls apron or pinafore pattern! I don't know why I love it so but I do! Today, I have bid on three patterns out of hundreds and have bought 2. Can't wait to make my little Bellsie something out of these!!

Two weekends ago, me and four other fabulous ladies, ran the Seaside, FL Half Marathon! It was the perfect weekend with beautiful weather and great food! We all tackeled the challenge with flying colors and had a great time! Can't wait to do it again next year!!

Okay, ever since last Christmas, Braxton has been crazy about Frosty the snowman! It is his number one song at bedtime, he sleeps with a Frosty and he has a book about Snowmen that he picks out atleast once a week! So with this funny, little obsession, I decided to get Brax some super Snowman items for his birthday! You would have thought the boy got a brand new tractor when he opened his present yesterday morning!! He has wanted to wear his new pj's and slippers everywhere and he loves his new bed set! This past Saturday, we had Braxton's 3rd birthday party at our house! We rode pony's and had a hay ride too! He loved it, to say the least! It was a beautiful morning and I believe all the kiddos had fun. I really can't believe my little baby boy is three! Three just seems so old to me. Time just flies by, but my how I enjoy this little ball of sunshine! He makes me so happy and makes me laugh too! He is oh, so sweet and I still love to hold him every chance I get!!

On Sunday, Braxton and Janie Belle enjoyed hanging out with Magic! It was such a fun afternoon and afterwards Braxton got upset and said he wanted to sleep with Magic in the "past-cheer" (pasture.) We assured him that it would be cold and dark and he wouldn't have a cozy bed!! He still cried and wants to go see Magic every morning!

This past weeekend we visited a Pumpkin Patch for one of Braxton's buddy's birhtday party! Ofcoarse the kiddos had fun and it put that cool, fall feeling in my heart! On Sunday, little Boosie and I made halloween cupcakes. She really enjoyed her first taste of yummy cupcake batter!!

Isaac planted about 65 acres of cotton this past spring and it's just about ready to be picked. We went to see it Sunday after church and I snagged a few photos! Braxton likes the cotton and talks about it and investigates it as if he's a professional farmer! Maybe one day little buddy!!

Braxton and I enjoyed our beautiful Wednesday playing Golf at the AU Club with my Brother. This was Braxton's first trip to the golf course and he had fun! I was very surprised that he actually stood still and let Joe show him how to stand and then hit the ball. He would say, "there it goes. Let's go get it!" He really liked wearing the glove the best, until he found a little riding spot in the back of the cart! He wanted to ride back there the rest of the trip. It was a very nice day and I thoroughly enjoyed watching him have fun! Thanks Uncle Joe, you are the best!!

In case you didn't know, Isaac loves to farm and Braxton does too! Janie Belle even took her first trip on a tractor recently. She, even liked it! I personally don't ride tractors, I don't even think I've been on one since I married the man. Anyways, a regular Saturday or Sunday for our family usually involves tractors! We have way too many of them but Isaac would say we need a few more! But, the kids just love it and it's great quality time with daddy. (Which, in turn, means more free sewing time for mommy!!) Anybody want a tractor ride?? Just come out to our house!

This was my first attempt at a "pillowcase" dress. It was very easy and I like the orange pattern

My mother began teaching me how to smock and sew in January of this year. Since then, I have been hooked and truly enjoy it. I finally got a sewing and embroidery machine a few weeks ago and have gone bananas making stuff for the kiddies! I have not taken pictures of my newest finished projects but hope to so I can document my work and share with my friends! I just love this hobby...I enjoy putting a lot of work into something that my kids can wear and looks adorable!

Our little Belle Belle is now 15 months old! She is such a little sweet heart! She's trying to talk more and is very playful. She mostly likes to ride toys around the house and push trucks with big brother. She loves, loves, loves her shoes, which she calls, "oosh, oosh," and wants them on at all times! She likes to put a bow in her hair, but then just wants to take it out again and again. I still love her sweet, thin baby hair so I'm not pushing the bow quite yet! She likes to sing and dance and love peas and carrots! I really can't get over how fast she's growing! What an angel!!

Poor Kitty!!

Isaac brought home this little kitten yesterday and he is Braxton's new best playmate!! He toted that kitten all over our yard yesterday afternoon. It was hilarious! He told the kitty about all of his stuff, he tried to put him down for a nap, and he got upset when the kitty wouldn't sit still in his gator! The kitty will stay outside and they are rather nice to have around, to keep out snakes and such. When you live on a farm I guess you can't help but have a little kitten around!

1st Day of Pre-School

Braxton had his first day of pre-school yesterday at FUMC Opelika! I just really can't believe it!! My little baby boy is growing up too fast, as they often do! He was happy to go along with the program until it was actually time for me to leave. He wanted Janie Belle to go with him which I thought was so, so sweet! On the way in the car, he wanted to hold Janie Belle's hand and he would say, "Sissy wants to go with me to pre-school." He just kept holding her hand and did not want to let go, it was a heart breaker! Then he said, "Momma, what you gonna do?" As if he'd be missing out on something. It was a sweet morning and his teachers, Jenny Galimore and Laura McKay, said he had a lot of fun and was well behaved! I shed some tears saying good-bye. Tears of joy for him mostly, and all the love and happiness he gets to experience this year!

This was funny! While on the disc, we tried to show Braxton how to do a thumbs up to go faster. Instead of the thumbs up, he would point up and say, "faster, faster!"

We spent Saturday with the Jackson Family and Horak family on the lake. Braxton had lots of fun with his best buds Whit and Christian!! We went on a boat ride and he got to ride a disc with mommy and daddy!! It really was a great day for the lake! Thank you Kristen and Rob for the invitation and hospitality, we really enjoyed it!!

This is absolutely our best toy yet! Santa did very well! Braxton will drive this thing all over our place everyday! And Janie Belle is finally strong enough, and brave enough, to ride with him! She really loves it! She holds on tight and enjoys the ride! She is really getting so, so big! Her first real word, besides momma, is "baby." She says it so sweetly. (As if she's not a baby herself!!) She has a very tender heart and will get her feelings hurt very easily! She is our little doll!

Braxton thinks he knows it all! He wants to dress himself and do everything else himself! He starts pre-school next week and he is pumped! He has been telling everyone, "I'm gonna go to pre-school!" He even wants to wear his new clothes and shoes!

Lake Fun

We went to the lake yesterday with our friends Blake and Lybbi Epperson and very much enjoyed it. Braxton took his first cruise on a wave runner and absolutely loved it!! He rode several times and when we got ready to leave he said, "Daddy, I want one of those!!" "Not any time soon buddy," was Isaac's reply!! Little Belle enjoyed herself too!! Braxton and I were in my best girlfriends wedding this past weekend. It was a long weekend but we both had a great time! Braxton was well behaved and had his 30 seconds of fame before he broke down at the alter! He did great for the photographers which was my biggest concern. Of course my girlfriend Katie Dumas looked gorgeous and the ceremony was beautiful! Braxton broke it down on the dance floor and I will admit, I did too!! Thank you Katie and Jeff for inviting my sweet, rowdy little boy to be a part of your special day! We love you!! I did not get any pictures of Braxton, too much going on, but maybe I will post one later from the photographers.

We took the boys a couple weeks ago to the fire station and as you can see they thoroughly enjoyed it! The firemen were so kind to hang out with us and, funny thing, they actually had to leave to an accident about 5 minutes after we arrived and the boys were just staring in disbelief! Luckily, there were two trucks so we still got the grand firetruck tour. Braxton just loves his buddies Christian and Whit, the 3 musketeers!!

We went to Callaway Gardens with Braxton's best two buds Whit Jackson and Christian Horak. They had sooo... much fun! We played at the beach most of the day then took a few train rides and watched a little bit of the acrobat circus! The boys were too cute playing and we moms and babies had a good time too! We must go back soon!!

Okay... so I promised last week I'd post pictures and a week later, here they are! As of today, Janie Belle is an official walker!! She is the cutest thing ever! She has been trying to conquer walking now for about 4 weeks and she's got it. She is the most determined little girl I've ever seen!! She has also learned how to ferociously fight back with her brother by biting him. Yes, biting!! I don't know how she came up with that, but with a brother trying to tackle her and take her toys all the time, she finally decided to do something about it..Pre-cious!

We are working on potty training but it is going much slower than I anticipated. He very much enjoys just sitting around looking at Daddy's tractor magazines! He is a hoot! Enjoy!!

I believe it has been about 4 weeks since my last post and I apologize!! We have been absolutely busy! Playing with friends, traveling, sewing projects, swimming, all the great things summer has to offer! I will post pictures this week, I promise! Janie Belle is walking and Braxton talks in paragraphs and is always asking me questions!! Always!! "Mommy, where's my daddy??" is my favorite, as if I have absolutely no idea who he even is! The funny thing is he usually will answer his own questions! "Daddy's in the woods, cutting trees!" or "Daddy's riding the tractor." He loves to talk about the weather! "Mommy, it's windy this morning, I think it's gonna rain." or "It's hot today, we need to go to the pool!" Janie Belle had her pictures made yesterday and she cried the whole time! I honestly couldn't believe it! This baby never cries, never! But put a beautiful 100 year old gown and bonnet on her, stick her in garden and she will melt to pieces!

My mom gave Janie Belle her cradle and little bureau from when she was a little girl! She made bedding for the cradle that matched Janie Belle's room! My sister and I played with this also when we were little girls!

Singing Happy Birthday with the not-so-Paula-Deen cake! Yummy!!

We celebrated with family on Thursday with a cookout and a raspberry-limeade cake that I got form a Paula Deen recipe but did not look a thing like Paula Deen's beautiful version! None the less, Janie Belle enjoyed it and we had fun! I got her a tutu for her birthday and it was adorable! She started singing at her party, it was too sweet! She would sing and sing and then would clap at herself, she is really getting to be a big girl! We love you Bellsie!!

Little Boots Rodeo

Braxton's ready for his Rodeo debut!

There is a rodeo in Montgomery every year just for kids! It was the cutest thing! Some friends of our told us about it and we knew Braxton would just love it! He participated in a dump truck race, stick horse race and the boots race. Let me just say that he didn't really know what was going on, but boy did he jump right in there, and have a blast!! He followed all the other little kiddies around and loved it! We will definitely be making this an annual family event! Way to go big boy!!

Mothers Day at Rosemary Beach, FL

We spent the week before Mother's day and the weekend at the beach and no doubt had a wonderful time! Even miss priss played all in the sand and didn't mind a bit! B absolutely loved it and was so excited to be there! The first day, the waves were his absolute favorite! He kept saying, "jump with mommy, run with mommy!!" We couldn't even get him to play in the sand! Then the pool was a big hit and we had to persuade him to go the beach! Then when Isaac, my brother and dad came, the sand was the cool place to be! He loved it all! It's just so sweet watching them play and enjoying all that the ocean has to offer! It's definitely our favorite family place!!

We went to the Zoo today and boy was it pretty! They had a bunch of little extra activities for the kiddies and we had a little pic-nic lunch! I put this pair of Braxton's old overalls on Janie Belle yesterday and just loved her little look! If you live on a farm, overalls are a must! Braxton wanted to pull his wagon and we put the little country girl in for a ride. She didn't like it at first but it was so, so cute! Then, I got Braxton to hold her and she really liked that! There have only been a small handful of moments that he's held his sister that close and it just melted my heart!! He kept saying, "That fun Sissy? That fun?" She adores him and rarely is there a moment this sweet!

On Saturday we went to my parents church and they had cute little crafts and activities for all the kids. His favorite, and mine too, was to decorate a wooden cross with all sorts of beautiful flowers! It was just sooo pretty. To watch the cross go from bare and then be full of beautiful blooms was awesome! He was very serious and worked very hard to put his flowers on the cross! They got to decorate and eat cupcakes and of course, hunt eggs! Janie Belle didn't do much egg hunting but she got to have her first sip of a juice box! Yum, Yum!!

We took little B to the Chambers County Rodeo last Friday night and we had a great time! The whole afternoon after we told him we were going he kept saying, "Braxy gonna ride the bull!" Now why he thought he was going to ride, I don't know, but it was too funny! Then, when we actually got there, they had a mechanical bull for kids. I don't think he even really knew what a bull was but he did get on for about 10 seconds! I guess that's a record for bull riding! We really enjoyed it; I just hope it won't turn out to be his true sport, (it is so dangerous!) He got a cowboy belt and has been wearing it all week! He cheered and clapped and was just amazed and really took it all in. I just enjoyed watching his little expressions and all his excitement!!
